Liberty – Benjamin “Ben” John Stephens, 44, passed away suddenly Monday, November 4, 2019 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. He was born June 29, 1975 in Meyersdale, PA to Rodger and Vicki (Hersch) Stephens. He was married to Melissa (Kreider) Stephens for nineteen years.
Ben was a talented and well respected electrician for over 22 years, the last nineteen years with King Electric. Those men, present and who have gone before him, were his brothers and he valued each and every one of them.
Ben was a true American who loved God, guns and being outdoors and shared these passions with everyone. He loved spending time with his family, especially his children, taking his boys fishing and watching his daughter dance, but he was happiest at home with “his peeps”. He was never seen without a hat, sunglasses and a smile that would light up a room. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Melissa Stephens; daughter, Leila Stephens; twin sons, Barrett Stephens and Gavin Stephens all of the home; parents, Rodger and Vicki Stephens; brother Craig (Laurissa) Stephens and a large extended family. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Paul and Jean Stephens and maternal grandparents, Clifford and Patricia Hersch.
A Celebration of his life will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, November 10, 2019 at Cedarock Historical Farm, followed by a time of sharing and remembering him for the family and friends at Mt. Hermon Community Center, 3735 Bass Mountain Road, Burlington. Please honor Ben by dressing casually, hats included! In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to their children’s Custodial Accounts, in care of Proponent Federal Credit Union, 3504 Forestdale Drive, Burlington, NC 27215.
The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at ARMC/Cone Health. They also appreciate the prayers, love and support from their family, friends, co-workers and teachers.
