Burlington Ben Harding Terrell, 85, formally of 519 Riverside Dr. Burlington, died Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at Burlington Manor. He was the husband of the late Irene Aldridge Terrell for 62 years and the son of the late Henry Edward and Lucy Simmons Terrell. A native of Caswell County he was a member of First Christian United Church Of Christ. A US Army veteran of WWII, serving in Europe and Normandy. Ben was a fourth generation chair craftsman. He continued the tradition of crafting Terrell family chairs and expanded this to crafting rocking chairs for each of his grandchildren finishing his last chair for his latest great grandchild, Zach before he passed. He is survived by one daughter; Cynthia Cindy Allen and husband Joe, of Carolina Beach, Sons; Richard Edward Rick Terrell, Benjamin James Benjie Terrell and wife Tammy all of Burlington, grandchildren; Scott and Susan Cobb, Brooks Terrell, Matthew Terrell, great grandchildren; Madeline Cobb and Zachary Cobb, sisters; Selma T. Simpson of Raleigh, Lillie Mae T. Walker, Mary T. Menefee, Virginia T. Terry all of Burlington, Leona T. Chandler of Yanceyville. He was preceded in death by his wife, infant son Ben Harding Terrell, Jr., infant twin daughters Bennie Lou Terrell and Sandra Faye Terrell, sisters; Pearl T. Tate, Erma T. Swift, brothers; H. Preston Terrell and George W. Terrell. The funeral service will be held Friday, April 21, 2006 at 11:00 am at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Howard Thompson. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm Thursday night at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and at other times at the son's home, Rick Terrell 419, Colbblestone Ct. Burlington.
