Barbara Isley Cates

Barbara Vernall Isley Cates, 92, passed away on Monday, December 27, 2021 at Alamance Regional Medical Center.  She was born on November 26, 1929 in Alamance County to the late Marshall D. Isley and Ada Estelle Isley and was married to the late Joseph Newton Cates who died in 2012.

She was a retired seamstress who enjoyed sewing for people and she was of the Baptist faith.

Barbara is survived by her great nephew, Paul Mann and wife, Sharon; several nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and great nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Edna Fogleman, Frances Willoughby and Emma Henderson; and brothers, Norris Isley, Boyd Isley and Harvey Isley.
