Barbara McKinney Walker, 78, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at the Hospice Home surrounded by her family. She was a native of Rockingham County and the wife of 60 years to Horace Thomas Walker who survives. Barbara retired from Lucent Technologies after 20 years of service and was of the Baptist faith. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. Survivors other than her husband, Horace Walker include her children, Ron Walker and wife, Sherri, Doug Walker and wife, Amy, Sheila Walker Kenyon, Mark T. Walker and wife, Dawn; grandchildren, Brian Walker and wife, Crystal, Jennifer Starnes and husband, Cameron, Philipp Talley, Hannah Walker, Kyle Walker, Andy Walker, Cody Walker and McKenzie Kenyon; great grandchildren, Abby Grace Starnes, Cami Beth Starnes and Lucas Philip Walker; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jesse and Shelby McKinney, Joe and Christine McKinney, Tommy and Ann McKinney; sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty Lou Patterson, Nancy and Ralph Shreve, Brenda and Larry Stephens. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Whitt McKinney, Sr. and Margaret Jones McKinney; sisters, Ann Harrel and Lois Minor. Everyone is invited to the graveside service that will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church by Rev. Larry Cheek. The family will receive friends following the service in the church and other times at the son, Ron Walker's home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
