Gibsonville-Barbara Ann Sartin Smith, 79, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 28, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family. She was a native of Guilford County and the wife of the late Arnold Lee Smith. Barbara retired after 34 years with Wades Heating and Cooling. She was a longtime member of McLeansville Baptist Church and the church choir. She was very active in her church serving in the Womens Helping Hands Ministry, Sunday School Teacher in the childrens department and VBS for many years. Her family and friends will fondly remember her cooking and baking talents. Barbara lived out the example of a virtuous women found in Proverbs 31. Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Robertson and husband, Mark of Gibsonville and her son, Ronald Eugene Ronnie Smith and wife, Vicki of Gibsonville; grandchildren, Daniel Robertson, Adam Smith, Abigail Smith and Hannah Robertson and a great grandchild, Heidi Smith; sister, Brenda Sartin Yednak of Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, Jennings Gratton Sartin and Clara Lovette Sartin Brooks and a brother, Charles Sartin. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at 1:00 pm at McLeansville Baptist Church by Rev. Mark Robertson and Rev. Nila Souther and the burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11:30-12:45 pm on Thursday prior to the service at the church and other times at the home.
