Barbara McKinney

Barbara Jean Cook McKinney, 82, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at the Hospice Home. She was born in Martinsville, VA to the late Herman Jepthie and Iris Martin Gillespie Cook. She was married for 40 years to Billy White McKinney who survives. Mrs. McKinney was a member of Baynes Baptist Church. One of her proudest moments was receiving a High School Diploma in 1996 at age 65. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and always loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Billy; children, Carolyn (James) Murray, Steve (Carla) Easley, Danny (Sandra) Easley, Terri Jett, Mike (Bonnie) Easley, Mitch (Margaret) Easley, Robert (Wendy) McKinney, Sandra (Tim) Page, Karen (David) Beam, and Mark (Lindsay) McKinney; siblings, Ocie (Marvin) Holland, Grace Wood, and J.D. Cook; 28 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and two grandchildren.
The funeral will be held 2:00 pm Thursday at Baynes Baptist Church by Pastor Michael Kent with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Wednesday evening at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory and other times at the home.
