Barbara Johnson

Liberty Barbara Mae Euliss Johnson, age 95, of 6155 Kimesville Rd., passed away Wednesday July 15, 2009 at her home. Born in Alamance County on July 19, 1913, she was the wife of the late Albert Ramair Johnson and daughter of the late William Alfred and Mattie Jane Coble Euliss. She graduated in 1931 from E.M. Holt School and was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church at Kimesville since October 25, 1925. She was a former member of the Philathea Class and Ila Tabor Circle and retired from Kayser Roth Hosiery after 33 years of service. Survivors include her son, Albert Boyce Johnson and wife Nancy of Gibsonville; granddaughters, Anita Leigh Johnson and Amanda Jane Johnson-Morrow and husband Matt, both of Whitsett; brothers, W. Coble and Devoe C. Euliss, both of Liberty and sister, Lucy Delancy Clapp and husband Clifton C. of Liberty. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, J. Glenn Euliss, Boaz Euliss and Homer Euliss and sisters, Mary Ruth Rierson, Grace Euliss and Nellie Linens. The funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, July 18, 2009 at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church by Rev. Todd Struble. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Johnson will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory until being taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Friday and other times at the home.
