Barbara Isley

Barbara Jane Stockard Isley, 81, most recently of Blakey Hall in Elon passed away Tuesday July 16, 2013 at The Hospice Home. She was the wife of the late Henry Lewis Isley and was born November 7, 1931 in Alamance County to the late Charles Knott and Grace Horner Stockard. Barbara was a graduate of Watts School of Nursing and retired as a nurse from the Alamance County Health department. She was a member of St. Mark's Church and Circle 7 at the church. She was a wonderful mother and cared for and about many children other than her own. Survivors include her sons, Don Isley and his wife LuAnn of Greensboro, Joshua Carden of Conover, a daughter Julie Isley of Burlington, grandchildren, Nichole Moore and her husband Chris and Keith Isley, great grandchildren, Jacqueline Frost, Jocelyn Carden, Jayden Carden, Justin Aiken, Chance Carden a great great grandchild Aaiden Frost. She is also survived by a sister Beverly Miles of Charlotte. The service will be held 1:00 PM Monday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Ben Bishop. Interment will follow in pine Hill Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff of Blakey Hall, Liberty Commons, and the Hospice Home of Alamance-Caswell.
