Barbara Ann Smith McClure Hill, 87, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at Liberty Commons surrounded by her family. Barbara was born on August 22, 1937 in Alamance County to the late L.L. “Buddy” Smith and Rachel Vivian White Smith.
Barbara was a Faithful and God-fearing woman that loved her family dearly. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. Barbara was formerly a member of Haw River Christian Church and was faithful to both churches. She was an epitome of a 50’s lady of beauty inside and out. Although quiet and reserved, she was kind to all and proper in all aspects. She was a wonderful example of Christ to her family and all who met and knew her.
Barbara is survived by her children: Rhonda Riley and husband, Eric; Teresa Bradshaw and husband, Brad; Melanie Hawn and husband, Richard; and Mark Hill and wife, Marian; four grandchildren: Rachel Bryant and husband, Brandon, Logan Hill and wife, Heather, Magan Handy and husband, Grant, and Sarah Bradshaw and fiancée, Drew; and two great grandchildren: Myles Handy and Jackson Hill.
Along with her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her first husband, D. H. “Buddy” McClure, Jr. and her second husband, Phillip Hill and her brother, Clifford Smith.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, September 6, 2024 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Reid Dickens. The family will receive friends from 1:00-1:45pm prior to the service at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery.
