Barbara Boscia

Mrs. Barbara Improta Boscia, age 74, formerly of Billingham Dr., died Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at Presbyterian Hospital of Charlotte after several months of failing health. Born in Bronx, NY, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Vera Improta and was married to the late Bernard Phillip Boscia, Sr., who died in 2008. She was a longtime homemaker and a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, where she was a volunteer with the church and the school. Mrs. Boscia was also a volunteer with Meals on Wheels and Hospice. She also was an avid reader and enjoyed art. Mrs. Boscia is survived by her two sons, Ralph A. Boscia, Sr. and his wife, Sandra L., of Charlotte and Bernard P. Boscia, Jr. of Lansdale, PA; two grandchildren, Ralph A. Boscia, Jr. and Nicholas R. Boscia; a sister, Sandra Williams of CT; and a brother, Alex Improta of CT. A funeral mass will be conducted at 11:00 Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church by Rev. Paul Gabriel, O.F.M., Conv. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Monday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory.
