Auman Jobe

Burlington, NC Auman Wesley Jobe, age 83, passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2009 at the Hospice Home. He was a native of Alamance County and the son of the late John Wesley and Frances Elizabeth Hawkins Jobe. Auman retired from the US Air Force after 22 years of service to his country, serving in Europe during WW II and in the Korean Conflict. Auman was the co-owner and operator of Jobe's hardware in Greensboro with his sister, Florence after retiring from the service. Survivors include his daughter, Cynthia Littlejohn and her husband, Doug of Lenexa, Kansas; sons, Robert Jobe and his wife, Lillie of Seattle, Washington and David Jobe of Missouri; three grandchildren, Gina Rose Littlejohn, Jackie Jobe and Chris Jobe; sister, Florence Coble and her husband, James of Burlington; nephews, Robert Fahnrich and his wife, Sheila and Barry Fahnrich and his fiance, Helen. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Elizabeth Bayliff. The Jobe family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Hospice for their kind and compassionate care given to Auman during his illness. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 3, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Oakwood Cemetery in Mebane by Rev. Gerald M. Sanders. The US Air Force Honor Guard will provide full military honors at the graveside. Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory are in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
