Audrey West

Audrey Sipe Eades West, 90, passed away peacefully Feb 27, 2014 at Twin Lakes Memory Care, Burlington, NC. She was born August 10, 1923 in Uniontown, PA but resided and worked most of her life in WV. She was employed by Kanawha Valley Bank, Cedar Coal Company and Steptoe and Johnson law firm before retiring to NC. Audrey was an active member at the First Presbyterian Church Charleston, WV. She taught children's Sunday School, kept the nursery, was a member of the Women of the Church and Suzy Early Sunday School Class and served on many committees. In 1993 Audrey and her husband Charles moved to Burlington, NC. There she immersed herself in activities at Twin Lakes Retirement Community, managing the gift shop, playing bridge, and supporting the auxiliary while acquiring many new friends. She was an active member at First Presbyterian Church, Burlington, attending Sunday School, Women's Circle, assisting with church meals and a volunteer for Loaves and Fishes. Later her membership was transferred to Springwood Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed traveling with Charles at home and abroad and working daily crossword puzzles together. Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Charles West, son, Bill Eades AnnaMaria of Baltimore, MD, daughter, Sherry Harrison Jack of Charleston, WV, grandchildren, Kristen Harrison, Chas WV, Jeremy Harrison, Denver, CO., nephew, Randy Boyles Joni, Advance, NC. ; Charles children, Kim West and Karen Comfort West and many extended family members. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the Twin Lakes May Foley Chapel by Father Mark Menees and Dr. Genie Martin. A reception will follow for family and friends at the Peppertree Caf. Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory are in charge of the arrangements. The family would like to express their deepest appreciation for the loving care that Twin Lakes Memory Care and Hospice of Alamance-Caswell gave their wife and mother.
