Audrey Feezor Turner, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at home.
She was born in Lexington, North Carolina to the late Daniel Milton Feezor and Stella Stokes Feezor. Audrey was married to Rucker Turner for 65 years. She graduated from East Carolina University (Teachers College) with a Bachelor of Science degree. She was the Bi-Centennial Director for Alamance County, and taught at Cummings High School. Generations of Trick-or-Treaters enjoyed the “witches brew” that she served from a bubbling caldron every Halloween in her character as the Witch of Devonshire. Audrey was very active in her church and community. In 2004, she was voted the Burlington Civitan’s “Woman of the Year“. She was an active member of the Burlington Women’s Club.
Audrey is survived by: sons, Kenneth S. Turner (wife Jo Anne, deceased), Wendell Wayne Turner (Angela Titone) Turner and David Feezor Turner and (wife Nancy) Turner.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Stokes Feezor, Turner Feezor; and sisters, Maurine Feezor, Annie Mae Feezor Miller.
The service to celebrate her life will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Friday, May 24, 2019, by the Rev. Bryan Crotts at the First Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, 2250 Saddle Club Road, Burlington. The family will receive friends following the service at the church and at other times at the home.
