Monroe, GA – Audrey Oakley Guthrie Nuyen, 95, formerly of Gibsonville passed away on Friday, March 1, 2019.  She was born on March 25, 1923 in Alamance County to the late Joseph Daniel Oakley and Ethel Kimbro Oakley; and was married to the late L.E. Guthrie who died in 1995 and the late Jack Thrall Nuyen who died in 2004.

Audrey formerly worked with Alamance Memorial Hospital and retired from Alamance Regional Medical Center after 29 years of service.  She was a member of Grove Park Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughters, Lurine “Punki” Hopkins, Penny Beasley and fiancé Erik Benson; a son, Fred Guthrie and wife, Sharon; grandchildren, Jennifer Chilton, Katie Fath and husband, Jesse, Patricia Woods and Mark Guthrie; great grandchildren, Brittany Smith Herring and Drew Chilton; great great grandchildren, Bella and Kenleigh Herring; and a sister, Vera Robinson.  Audrey was preceded in death by her husbands; sisters, Effie Petty, Mary King, Ruth Trueblood and infant sister, Eva Oakley; brothers, Roy Oakley, Kendall Oakley and Robert Oakley.

The graveside service will be held, Friday, March 8, 2019 at 2:00PM at Alamance Memorial Park by Rev. Marc Sanders.  The family will receive friends from 1:00-1:45PM prior to the service at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory.
