Arbert Hicks

Burlington, NC Arbert Junior Hicks, age 78, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. He was a native of Person County and the husband of 57 years to Dorothy "Dot" Aldridge Hicks. Junior was employed for 26 years with Dan River Mills and later retired from D & S International. He was an avid nascar fan and enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. Junior was of the Christian faith. Survivors include his wife, Dot A. Hicks of the home; children, Wanda Kay Hicks and Eugene M. Hicks both of the home, Amy E. Hicks of Elon; grandchildren, Christopher W. Dickens and C. Tyler Roan; great granddaughter, Macy A. Bishop; sisters, Nellie Mae Dameron and Gloria J. James Huff both of Burlington; brother, Calvin J. Patricia Hicks of Burlington and a sister-in-law, Edith Hicks of Burlington. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Arbert and Leona Fulcher Hicks; sisters, Margie H. McKinney, Sallie Inez Aldridge and Joan Janette Hicks and by a brother, James "Jake" Hicks. A service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Lakeview Community Church by Pastor Gerald M. Sanders and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 pm on Friday at Lakeveiw Community Church and other times at the home.
