Annie Darnell Clapp Woodard, 74, of Gibsonville passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at the Burlington Hospice Home. She was born December 21, 1950 in Guilford County to the late Lester Boyd (L.B.) Clapp and Mary Mozelle Haymore Clapp.

Darnell retired after 40+ years working for Penn National Insurance Company in several capacities. Early in her life, she enjoyed being a body builder. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, heading to the beach on many occasions, and often enjoyed visiting people. She was active in First Baptist Church of Gibsonville early on in her life.

Darnell is survived by her three children: Wendy Maney of Whitsett, Kenneth Black Jr. of Gibsonville, and William Woodard and wife, Angela of Julian; grandchildren: Brandon Black, Colton Woodard, and Casey Woodard; and a brother Gerald Clapp and wife Hannah.

Along with her parents, she was predeceased by two husbands: Kenneth Black and Clyde Woodard.

A Memorial Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery in Kimesville at 2:00 PM.
