Annie Patton

Burlington - Annie Ruth Holmes Patton, 88, of Burlington went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at 5:55 am at Peak Resource Center, Graham. She was formerly employed by Durham Life Insurance Company and was a member of Grace Bible Fellowship. She loved the Lord Jesus Christ more than anything else in her life! She loved her family, neighbors and friends and will be greatly missed.

Mrs. Patton was born November 2, 1927 to the late Samuel Eugene Holmes and Hattie Dodson Holmes. Her mother died when she was three and we rejoice knowing she gets to see her mother again. She was a wonderful wife to the late Howard Tate Patton, Sr. and leaves behind two children, H. Tate (Margaret) Patton, Jr. and Pam Ingle. She was a wonderful mother and equally wonderful grandmother to Andra (Brent) Simpson, Jeremy Ingle, Joshua (Jessica) Patton, and Joanna Patton. She also leaves behind nine great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Margaret Gene Holmes White and brothers, Jimmy (Nancy) Holmes, Tommy Holmes and Fletcher (Jean) Holmes, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her stepmother, Nannie McAdams. She loved to read God's Word in the early morning, pray, encourage and cook.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 1:45 PM Friday at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
