Annie Lowe McIntyre of Gibsonville, NC passed away peacefully on December 22nd 2015. Her life was a long and rewarding journey, lived with a strong focus on her faith and family. Ann was born in Guilford Township, NC on November 22, 1922 to the late Jesse Hunter Lowe and Sallie Jessup Lowe. She graduated from Guilford High School in 1939. Ann married James Russell McIntyre in 1944, just before his deployment to Europe during World War II. On his return, they established their home on a portion of the McIntyre family farm. There she began her lifelong occupation as farmwife, devoted mother, and faithful servant in her church. Ann committed her life to raising four sons, managing the family farm, and supporting her community. She touched many lives in her church and community as a leader of Bible School, Sunday School Teacher, and various other church and school related activities. Her grandchildren were a great source of joy in her life as she was in theirs. She will long be remembered by her family and friends for the meals she prepared and her tireless efforts in service of others. Ann is survived by her sons Gary McIntyre and wife Kathy of Gibsonville, NC, Paul McIntyre and wife Pam of Fort Mill, SC, Neal McIntyre and Jill Leite of Dacula, GA; grandchildren Brandy Smith, Braxton McIntyre, Matthew McIntyre, John McIntyre, Allan McIntyre, Marshall McIntyre, Jessica Kiser, and Joshua McIntyre; and 12 great grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters Lois Evans, Margaret Hicks, and Francis Gray. Along with her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her husband, James, son Steve Alton McIntyre, brothers Jesse Lowe and John Lowe, and sister Louise Tilley. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 27, at Apples Chapel Christian Church with burial in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends after the service at the church and other times at the home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church.
