Mrs. Annie Ashe "Jeannette" Kerr, 75, of 504 First St., went home to be with the Lord Thursday, December 18, 2008 at the Hospice Home after several months of failing health. Born in Gaston County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Alvin Ashe and the late Annie Gibson Ashe and was married for over 52 years to Ralph Eugene Kerr, Jr., who survives. She was retired from the textile industry and was a member of the Gibsonville Church of God, where she taught Sunday School to the children for over 50 years. Her love of children led to her favorite hobby of making dolls. Mrs. Kerr is survived by her husband of the home; two daughters, Cynthia Kerr and her fianc', David Walker, of Elon and Belinda Mondie and her husband, Brad, of Haw River; three sons, Kenneth Kerr and his wife, Patty, of Swannie, GA, Michael Kerr and his wife, Jennifer, of Burlington and Gene Kerr and his wife, Anna, of Mebane; eleven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a brother, Larry Ashe of Statesville; four sisters, Mary Lambert of Concord, Faye Smith of Albemarle, Evelyn Oliphant and Emma Jean Farrell, both of Mebane; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p. m. Saturday, December 20, 2008 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Betsy Combs. Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8:30 p.m. Friday evening and other times at the home.
