Annie Apple

Annie Lee Clapp Apple, 88, passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at Woodhaven Court Assisted Living in Albemarle, NC after a short period of failing health.  She was born in Guilford County on December 30, 1932 to the late Roy and Dovie Clapp and was the wife of 60 years to the late Hobert Apple who passed away in 2013.

Annie Lee was a mother first and foremost.  Also a homemaker, wife, farmer, caregiver and counselor.  She was dedicated to the well being of her children, husband, and parents. She will be greatly missed!

Survivors include her sons: Ray Apple (Sharon) of Mt. Gilead, Dale Apple (Cindy) of Morganton, Gary Apple of Julian, Jeryl Apple (Gloria) of Julian, and Eric Apple (Barbara) of Whitsett; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; sisters: Peggy May and Brenda Hutchins; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, Annie Lee was preceded in death by her brothers: Edward and Kenny Clapp.

A Funeral Service is scheduled for Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park.  Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, December 10, 2021 at Lowe Funeral Home from 6:00 till 8:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mt Hope United Church of Christ, 2400 Mt. Hope Church Rd., Whitsett, NC 27377.

The family wishes to express our deepest thanks to the staff of Woodhaven Court for their love and care during her stay there.  They were a huge blessing to her and us the family.
