Annette Stokes

Mrs. Annette Page Stokes, 72, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, April 3, 2008 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Stokes was born December 5, 1935 in Sampson, County to the late Merton M. Page and Olivia Edwards Page. She was the wife of Mr. Graham H. Stokes who preceded her in 1988. Mrs. Stokes was a very active member of First Baptist Church of Elon where she was a member of the choir, worked with the children's ministry, and was active in all areas of the senior groups. Survivors include two sons, Page Stokes and his wife Brenda and Michael Stokes and his wife Lisa all of Burlington; two grandchildren, Haley Stokes and Hannah Stokes; a sister, Janice P. August of Simsburg, Connecticut. A funeral service will be held 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at First Baptist Church of Elon by the Rev. Mark Mofield. Entombment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and at other times the family will be at the home of Page Stokes, 3241 Coventry Place, Burlington.
