Burlington - Anne Sullivan Kernodle, 83, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, who brought joy to others through selfless acts of kindness, from baking to running errands to sharing encouraging words. Anne's Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date due to the current health crisis. However, she will be available for viewing from 11:00 am - 7:00 pm on Friday at Lowe Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at Bethlehem Christian Church Cemetery at 1:00 pm on Saturday.
A native of Tarrytown, New York, she was the daughter of the late Leo Lawrence and Marion Caulfield Sullivan, and the wife of the late Gordon Storey Kernodle.
Anne retired from Glen Raven Mills after over 30 years of service as part of the maintenance division, and was a dedicated volunteer in the Gift Shop at ARMC for 15 years.
Survivors include her daughter, Susan Kernodle Maue & husband Rob Maue; son Robert Kernodle & wife Anja Kernodle; and son Dennis Kernodle & wife Lynn Kernodle. Her cherished grandchildren include Elizabeth Kernodle, Neil Kernodle & wife Sara Kernodle, Amy Kernodle, Robbie Kernodle, Sandra-Anne Kernodle, Kayla Maue, Devon Maue, Aiden Maue, Keira Maue and Summer Kernodle. She was preceded in death by her son Gordon Talmage Kernodle and granddaughter Gracie Lynn Kernodle.
