Ann Taylor

Burlington, NC Ann Walsh Taylor, age 81, of Moran Street passed away on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at the Hospice Home surrounded by her family. She was a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and the wife of 60 years to John Michael Taylor who survives. Ann was employed for over 20 years with Alamance County Hospital. She was a long time member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She was a Third Order Franciscan, faithful member of the Nocturnal Adoration Society and the Christian Hearts and Hands where she was affectionately known as the "Flower Lady". Ann devoted her time to the elderly in our community by taking them shopping or even inviting them into her home for a meal. She was active prayer warrior in her church as a leader of a prayer chain. Ann was an Alumni of The Little Flower High School in Philadelphia, PA. Her family fondly remembers her gift as the "World's Best Whistler" as she was able to whistle any tune in perfect harmony! Survivors include her husband of the home, John Michael Taylor and her children, John X. Taylor and his wife, Sherry of Nashville, TN, Marianne Taylor-Hicks of Burlington, Donna Taylor Richards and her husband, Rick of Gibsonville, Richard X. Taylor and his wife, Terri of Charlotte, Terry Taylor Young and her husband, Dana of Nashville, TN and Paul X. Taylor and his wife, Michelle of Burlington, 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren and a special niece, Lori Schonewolf. She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Anne Mundy Walsh and a beloved sister, Connie Cash. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 10, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church by the Very Reverend Bob Benko OFM Conv., V.F. The family will receive friends from 10 until 10:45 am in the church prior to the Mass. The burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park and other times the family will be at the residence. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
