Ethel Ann Gammon Shively, 65, of 608 Everett St. passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at UNC Hospital after 10 weeks of critical illness. Mrs. Shively was born September 15, 1943 in Alamance County to Oscar William Gammon who survives and the late Dora Edith Shockley Gammon. She was the wife of the late William Bud Shively who preceded her. Ann was retired from Copeland Fabrics and was a member of Powerline Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include two sons, William Lee Turlington and his wife Cindy and Michael Phillip Turlington both of Mebane; a daughter, Shanare Shively Benge and her husband, Dustin of Mebane; step-sons, Alan Shively and Randy Shively both of Mebane, and Billy Shively of Texas; a step-daughter, Susan Shively of Mebane; father, Oscar Gammon and his wife Faye of Prospect Hill; brothers, Bill Gammon, Phil Gammon Denise, Elmer Gammon Almeria, and Lynn Gammon Jeri all of Mebane, and Richard Gammon of Louisiana; a sister, Marie Howe of Graham; Grandchildren, Devin and Karma Benge, Crystal Ruiz and her husband Dre, and Joseph Turlington; six step-grandchildren; and three great grandchildren, Giovanai, Jacqueline, and Angelique Ruiz. Ann was preceded in death by her husband, mother, and daughter-in-law, Velva M. Gammon. A memorial graveside service will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 12, 2008 at the Gammon Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Daryl Kroeze officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
