Gibsonville Ann Jones Cook, 64, of 1310 E. Joyner St., went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 12, 2007 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer for eight months. She was born in Goldsboro and was the daughter of the late Raymond P. Jones and the late Georgia Rose Jones. She was married for 38 years to James J. Cook, who survives. She worked for PsychoTherapeutic Services of Alamance-Caswell and The Elon Homes for Children for several years. She was a graduate of Campbell University, attended St. Marks Church and was a member of the Burlington Indians/Royals Booster Club. She was an avid baseball fan and loved attending spring training in Florida. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She is survived by her husband, James J. Cook of the home; daughter, Amy Elizabeth Cook of Gibsonville; and son, David James Cook of Burlington. The funeral will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Ben Bishop and Dr. Wally Snyder with interment to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Wednesday at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
