Andrew Sawyer

Burlington Andrew Ladd Sawyer, 68, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2015 after a five year struggle with lung disease and liver failure. He was born in Durham County to the late Johnny "John" Sawyer and the late Attie Lou Keck Sawyer. Ladd was a self-employed Real Estate Appraiser; he received the SRA Senior Residential Appraiser with the Society of Residential Appraisers in 1988. He attended Ireland Street Chapel as a child and most recently the Elon Community Church. Ladd was a proud veteran of the US Air Force. He was a strong supporter of Alamance Battleground State Historic Site where he volunteered as a re-enactor and was the immediate past President of the Alamance Battleground Friends. Survivors include his long-time companion and caregiver, Ted Scott Henson, his son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Audrey Sawyer; grandchildren, Olive Sawyer and Winslow Sawyer; step sister, Glenda Lee Baker Wilkinson; niece, Jennifer Zuskin and husband, Steve; nephews, Jason Wilkinson and wife, Tracy, Jeremy Wilkinson and wife, Debra; one aunt, Irene Wallace, and special friend Scott Hughes. The celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 10:00 am at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Randy Orwig of Elon Community Church.
