Amy Jo Hoyle, age 44, passed away May 18, 2018 at the Hospice Home of Alamance County after a hard fought and courageous battle with cancer. Amy's positive attitude throughout her journey was an inspiration to all who know and love her.
Amy was born in Burlington, NC on December 7, 1973. She graduated from Oak Hill Academy in Virginia in 1992. Amy was an animal lover, especially cats, and was most recently "mom" to her sweet kitties Nikki and Snoopy. She combined her love of animals and motorcycles by participating in the Miles for Mutts Ride every year.
Amy was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Paul and Betty Hoyle, affectionately known as Poppy and Memommy. She is survived by her mother Jan Rene Hoyle (George David Curtis), her aunts,Terri Strausbaugh and her husband Bill, Robin Smith and Lenwood Smith, and cousins Katie Smith (Brian), Lissie Summer (David), Bill Strausbaugh, and Laura Strausbaugh.
One of Amy's greatest concerns was what would happen to her precious Nikki and Snoopy. A special thank you from the family to Amy's friend Maribeth who told Amy that she would take both of them into her home. This meant the world to her and to us.
It was Amy"s wish that her body be donated for medical research and we have honored her wish. There will be no service. Please choose your own special way to honor her memory. She requested that any donations made in her name be made to the following organizations: Sparkle Cat Rescue, Hospice Home of Alamance County, or your local humane society.
Thank you to all of her extended family and friends who made her feel especially loved during the last few months of her life and for all the prayers that were lifted in her name. We can rejoice knowing that she has now been reunited with her Poppy and Memommy and is resting in the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ
