Alton Totten

Alton Lynn Totten, 58, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2016. He was born October 5, 1958 in Caswell County to the late Neal Banks Totten and Lorine Fitch Totten, who survives. Alton graduated from Bartlett Yancey High School in 1976. He attended North Carolina State University, studying electrical engineering and graduated from Alamance Community College with a degree in Industrial Systems Technology. He worked for Cone Mills and Copland Mills for a number of years. Alton loved working with his hands and being outdoors, especially spending time fishing. He was also an avid reader.

He is survived by his mother, Lorine Totten; sisters, Laverne Vance and husband, Jeffrey Vance, Susan Totten and husband, Dr. Mark Feinglos; nephews, Dr. Stephen Vance, Daniel Feinglos; niece, Rebecca Planchard; aunts, Elsie Fitch, Frances Richardson, Shirley Moore, Faye Fitch; uncle, Denny Totten and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Neal Totten; sister Debra Elaine Totten, and nephew David Jeffrey Vance.

The funeral will be held 12:00 noon on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Bethel Christian Church and officiated by Rev. Barry Lane and Chaplain Larry McCarty. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 11:00 - 11:45 a.m. Thursday at the church prior to the service.

Floral gifts of remembrance may be sent to Lowe Funeral Home in Burlington, NC prior to 9:00 a.m. Thursday or memorial gifts of remembrance may be made in Alton's memory to Bethel Christian Church, 595 Baynes Road, Burlington, NC 27217.
