Altavista Albright Pruitt

Altavista retired from Belk’s Department Store as a sales associate. In her earlier years she had worked as a nurse’s aide and a former employee with Western Electric. Altavista was a member of Grove Park Baptist Church where she was a member of the BYKOTA Sunday School Class. She enjoyed working in her yard, planting flowers and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her loving son, Rickey Herman Pruitt; step grandsons, Phillip Mauldin and Gary Mauldin; seven great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren; a sister, Frances Taylor and husband Harris; a brother, Ben Albright; a sister-in-law, Barbara Albright; and several nieces and nephews. Altavista was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Cecil Lem Albright, Jr., Joe Albright and Isaac Albright and a daughter-in-law, Phyllis Turner Pruitt.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00am Saturday, July 1, 2023 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by The Rev. Marc Sanders with the burial to follow at Moore’s Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7pm Friday at the funeral home.
