Mrs. Alma Foster Dixon, age 78, of 2229 Wilkins St., died Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at Rehabilitation and Healthcare of Alamance after several years of failing health. A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Jay Foster and the late Eva Saunders Foster and was married for over 58 years to William Harold Dixon, Sr., who survives. Alma was a homemaker and a longtime member of Grace United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women and also volunteered with the Good Shepherd Kitchen. Mrs. Dixon is survived by her husband of the home; two daughters, Terry D. Dixon of Archdale and Carolyn D. Zimmerman and her husband, Mike, of Graham; three sons, William H. Dixon, Jr. and his wife, Susan, of Gibsonville, David A. Dixon and his wife, Penny, of Snow Camp and Eric Dixon and his wife, Kelli, of Manahawkin, NJ; nine grandchildren, Alex Charbonneau, Shane Zimmerman, Nichole Hackmann, Lauren Dixon, Tracy Dixon, Kaitlynn Dixon, Kyleigh Dixon, Dustin Dixon and Ashley Dixon; three great grandchildren, Autumn Charbonneau, Ayden Hackmann and Grace Zimmerman; and two sisters, Geneva Harrison of Greensboro and Hazel Lee of Indian Trail, NC. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Edna Lea. The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 Friday, January 29, 2010 at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Ronnie Byrd. Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:45 Friday afternoon prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
