Allen Lassiter

Mr. Allen Dale "Bobby" "Jack" Lassiter, age 70 of Haw River, passed away on Friday, May 11, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family after several months of failing health.
A native of Alamance County, he was the son of the late Dual Pink Laster and the late Lillie Lamb Laster and was married for over 46 years to Mrs. Connie Bowes Lassiter, who survives. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Vietnam War. Bobby retired from Cone Mills Granite Plant with over 30 years of service. He attended Dayspring Baptist Church, was an avid rabbit hunter, enjoyed fishing, was a diehard Tarheel fan, and was a great storyteller.
Mr. Lassiter is survived by his wife of the home; his children, Karen Pate of Haw River, Jenny (Jeff) Rudd of Leasburg, Tara (Kenneth) Moore of Haw River, Daniel (April) Lassiter of Anderson, April (T.J.) Basden of Burlington, Beth (Josh) Durham of Elon, John (Sandra) Bowes and Tracey Bowes; 14 grandchildren, Justin Ramirez, Autumn Shields, Hunter and Fisher Rudd, Amber and Kaleigh Pate, Jack and Ira Lassiter, Summer and Gunner Basden, Lillie, Gracie and Peyton Durham and Destiny Gray; two great grandchildren, Landon and Laila Ramirez; two sisters, Jenny Haga of Jacksonville, FL and Pat Rogers of Haw River; a brother, Joe Lassiter of Hillsborough; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and 12 siblings. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Debbie Griffin, Randy Sumner, Miranda Ramirez, Stevie Hutchins and all the staffs of the Veterans Administration Hospital and the Duke University Medical Center for their loving and compassionate care during Bobby's illness.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 Monday, May 14, 2018 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Larry Redding and Rev. Fred Bunts. Interment will follow at Haw River City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Sunday evening at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
