Burlington, NC Miss Alice Gertrude "Duck" Clark, age 84, formerly of Ossipee Front Street passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at the Hospice Home. She was a native of Alamance County and the daughter of the late Charles and Ethel Roach Clark. Alice was a former employee with Engineered Plastics and later retired from Memorial Hospital. Alice was of the Baptist faith. She was survived by her sister-in-law, Edith Clark wife of the late Rev. Jack Clark; nieces, Kay McMullan and her husband, Bob of Graham, Cynthia Brown and her husband, Samuel of Raleigh and Carol Beasley and her husband, Steve of Petersburg, Virginia; nephews, Eddie Sumner and his wife, Jody of Roxboro, B. R. Goodman and his wife, Rachel of Roanoke, Virginia, Howard Clark of Charleston, South Carolina and Jean Sumner of Burlington, wife of her nephew the late Clyde Sumner; several great nieces and nephews; special friend, Boyce Maness of Maryland. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Mamie Lee Sumner and Geneva Goodman; brother, Rev. Jack Clark. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Lowe Funeral Home and Chapel by Rev. Walter Jones and the burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:15 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home of Kay and Bob McMullan, 818 Rivers Edge Drive, Graham, NC 27253.
