Alice Tate Baker, 94, formerly of Sellars Mill Road, passed away Monday, January 23, 2012 at Alamance Health Care. Mrs. Baker was a native of Caswell County and the daughter of Robert Lee Tate and Rosa Ann Terrell Tate, both deceased. She was the wife of the late Byron Otis Baker, Sr. Mrs. Baker was a homemaker and member of Eastlawn Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn B. Madren and husband Tony of Rural Hall; son, Byron "Bob" Baker, Jr. and wife Shirley of Burlington; grandchildren, Brian Madren Leslie of Rural Hall, Grant Madren of Winston-Salem, Kristen Baker and Leah Baker, both of Burlington; great grandchildren, Noah, Jacob, Ethan and Eli Madren; sister, Nellie Durham of Burlington; sister-in-law Lottie Tate of Burlington. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 25, 2012 in the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Stephen Joyner. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. Mrs. Baker will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory through the funeral service. The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home from 6-8pm Tuesday and at her home at other times.
