Alene Shepard

Concord, NC-Alene Long Shepard, age 88 went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 11, 2014. She was a native of Alamance County and the wife of the late Edgar Harvey "Ted" Shepard. Alene is survived by her son, Gary Shepard and his wife, Cindy of Concord; grandchildren, Brian Shepard and his wife, Jennifer of Gastonia and Katie Shepard of Concord; great grandson, Hudson Shepard and her brothers, Billy T. Long and his wife, Helen of High Point and Johnny E. Long and his wife, Betty of Burlington. She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter, Debbie Swinson; parents, Ernest and Hallie Long; sisters, Inez Page, Louise Lasley, Thelma Terrell, Irene Black and Nellie Long and a brother, Bud Long. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel in Burlington by Pastor Steve Goode and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:45 pm on Saturday prior to the services at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory.
