Albert Swinney, Sr.

Albert "Al" Morrison Swinney, Sr., 94, passed at his home on Saturday, November 18, 2017. He was born in Rockingham County to the late James Grover Cleveland Swinney, Sr. and Blanch Aline Burgess Swinney and was married to the late Hodgie Williams Swinney. He was a tax auditor with N.C. Employment Security Commission and was a member of People's Memorial Christian Church. He was a B-29 pilot and instructor for the U.S. Air Force during WWII.
He is survived by his son, Al (Catherine) Swinney, Jr.; granddaughter, Jennifer Swinney; great grandson, Ian Paschal and a brother, George S. Swinney.
The funeral will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. David Grinnell with entombment to follow in Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 12:45-1:45 Tuesday prior to the service.
