Albert Pierce, Jr.

Albert Roy Pierce, Jr., 83, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Edgewood Place. He was born October 7, 1932 in Alamance County to the late Albert Roy Pierce, Sr. and the late Irene Brown Pierce. He was married to the late Ruby Dameron Pierce for fifty-two years. Albert served in the US Army during the Korean War. He retired from the US Postal service after thirty-five years of service. He loved to read and enjoyed sports especially the NY Yankees and all of Duke's sports teams. He loved people and made friends everywhere he went and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his daughter Teressa Pierce; a son Gregory Pierce; grandsons, Erick McCall and Austin Pierce. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; a sister, Juanita Smith; brothers, Lloyd Pierce and Brown Pierce.
There will be a graveside service held 10:00 AM Thursday at Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Wednesday at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. and at other times at the home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215.
