Albert “Buck” Mizelle, Sr., 82, of Burlington passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 26, 2024.
Buck was born February 5, 1942, in Orlando, Florida, to Albert and Helen Mizelle. He proudly attended the Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina. After graduating he served in the Army for 2 years. Soon after his service, Buck married Janice Jones of Lakeland, Florida, and started his career with the FDIC. The couple had two children and moved to the Washington, DC, metro area where they would raise their family and Buck would complete his 30-year career with the FDIC.
In retirement, Buck and Janice lived in Aiken, South Carolina, and then moved to Burlington, North Carolina. Buck was a longtime resident of The Village of Brookwood. He had a great love for the community there and enjoyed the company of his many friends.
Buck is preceded in death by his wife Janice. He is survived by his daughter, Tracey Evans and husband Daniel; son, Rob Mizelle and wife Jennifer; grandchildren, Whitney and husband Alfred, Olivia, Colby, and Henry; and great-grandchildren Brielle and Alessia.
A celebration of Buck’s life will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at The Village at Brookwood.
