Burlington, NC Agnes Tate Keatts, age 77 went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at the Hospice Home surrounded by her family. She was a native of Caswell County. Agnes retired after 42 years with Lucent Technologies and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She was a member of People's Memorial Christian Church where she served as secretary and treasurer of the Light Bearer's Sunday School Class for many years. Agnes was a member of the Eastern Star, Battle of Alamance Chapter # 256 and secretary of the Eastern Star. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her daughter, Angela Wallace and husband, Fred of Elon and grandchildren, Bryan Wallace of Elizabethton, Tennessee and Lauren Wallace of Huntersville, North Carolina and special companion, Wayne Autry of Burlington. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Fletcher Tate and Minnie Ethel Tate Tate and a sister, Ruth Huffines. The family request that the members of the Southgate and Battle of Alamance Chapters' of the Order of the Eastern Star sit as an honorary group at the service. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Sunday, December 8, 2013 at 2:00 pm at People's Memorial Christian Church by Rev. John Shields and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4-6 pm on Saturday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home of her daughter.
