Agnes Detomo

Burlington - Agnes O'Grady Detomo, 87, passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at The Hospice Home in Burlington NC. A native of Syracuse, New York, she lived in the south most of her life with her husband of 64 years, Paul M. Detomo, now deceased. They enjoyed life in Cocoa Beach, Florida, Long Beach, Mississippi, Durham, NC and Greensboro, NC. She was the Valedictorian of her graduating class, and served Central Carolina Bank for many years.
"Aggie" is survived by her four children, Paul Detomo (Cindy) of Durham, NC, Pat Utz (Jack) of Burlington, NC, Darlene Kimbrough (Tim) of Nashville, Tennessee and Danny Detomo (Kris) of Gallatin, Tennessee. Aggie was affectionately called Memaw by her eleven grandchildren, whom will forever cherish her memory. Ryan and Emma Detomo, Bradley, Emily and Lauren Utz, Joshua, Caleb and Hannah Kimbrough and Danyel, Josie and Colin Detomo. She was blessed to see the birth of three great-grandchildren : Ember Blaze Detomo, Ellerbie McWhirter Utz, and Simon Bradley Kimbrough.
Aggie leaves behind three sisters: Mary Anne Campbell of Farmers Branch, TX, Eileen Roushe of Montoursville, PA. and Margaret Paige in Syracuse NY. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and a brother.
A Mass will be celebrated on Friday, October, 6, 2017 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church at 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215.
