Agnes Cox

BURLINGTON- Mrs. Agnes Latham Cox, 86, formerly of Trail Eight, died Saturday, December 22, 2007 at Alamance Health Care after several months of failing heath. A native of Guilford County, she was the daughter of the late John Latham and the late Martha Latham and was married to the late Robert Howell Cox, who died in 1996. She was a homemaker and a member of Davis St. United Methodist Church and also the Daughters of the American Revolution. Mrs. Cox is survived by two daughters, Linda A. Heathcote and her husband, Butch, of Graham and Gloria C. Hopkins and her husband, Ken, of Burlington; two sons, Robert H. Cox, Jr. of Tupelo, MS and John R. Cox of Burlington; seven grandchildren, Julie Joyce, Ashley Simmons, Brittany Cox, Bert Heathcote, Adam Hopkins, Tripp Cox and Leslie Cox; four great grandchildren, Ethan Simmons, Sam Joyce, Meghan Martin and Lyndsey Heathcote; and a sister, Louise Walker of Scottsdale, AZ. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; four sisters; and one brother. The funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 PM Monday, December 24, 2007 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Howard Thompson. Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 10:30-11:45 Monday prior to the service.
