Adele Holt

BURLINGTON – Adele Ardyce Powell Holt, 89, died on Friday, August 30, 2019 at Peak Resources Alamance, after a few months of failing health.

A native of Michigan, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Lawrence E. Holt; parents, Dave and Mona Powell; sisters, Lyda Powell Larsen, and Cleo Powell Hall; brothers, RD Powell, JC Powell, and Cecil Powell.

Survivors include a brother, Rodger (Clara) Powell of Reed City Michigan; daughter, Tracie Holt of Advance; sons, Michael (Cathy) Holt and Matthew Holt, both of Elon; grandchildren, Ben (Brandy) Holt, Christin (Brad) Self, Heather (Andy) Hill, Ashley Wiles, Evan (Sara) Wiles, Tatum Holt and Grayson Holt; great-grandchildren, Adin Holt, Hailey Holt, Brynn Holt, Bacie Self, Jesson Self, Baker Self and Hazel Hill.

Adele graduated from Lincoln Chiropractic College in Indianapolis, IN practicing in Burlington, NC in the early 1950’s.  She was an internationally recognized Porcelain artist, teaching fine art and design throughout the US for over 40 years.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Steve Regan with a private burial to follow.  The family will receive friends from 5-7pm on Wednesday at the funeral home and other times at her home.
