Ada Harrelson

Mrs. Ada Mathis Senter Harrelson, age 95, of Burlington went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ, at 10:15 p.m., on Saturday, May 31, 2008 at Alamance Regional Medical Center, following two years of declining health. A native of Richmond County, she was the wife of the late Leon Harrelson and the daughter of the late Annie Yarbrough Mathis and Olin Mathis. Ada was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed traveling with her family and preparing lunch on Sunday for her family. She was a charter member of Friendly Lane Baptist Church, also a previous member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Mebane. She was the owner of Artistic Beauty Salon and retired from Burlington Industries, Plaid Mill. Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Pat Moorefield and her husband, Benny of Burlington; one grandson, Mr. Shannon Moorefield also of Burlington. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four brothers, Paul, Tom, Garner and Olin Mathis; four sisters, Nellie Johnson, Belle Sharpe, Blondie Christopher and Nora Homesley. The funeral service to celebrate her life will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Danny Miles and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
