John Petry

John Franklin Petry, 86, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 28, 2021.  He was born in Schuylkill County, PA to the late John C. and Marian Hemmer Petry and was married for 63 years to Mildred H. Petry who died February 28, 2020.

John was an avid gardener who enjoyed sharing his produce with neighbors.  He also enjoyed wood working, bluegrass music and was a truck and car enthusiast.  John was a man of strong faith and worshipped with his church family at Beacon Baptist Church for over twenty-five years.  He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

He is survived by his sons, Jeff Petry (Jennifer) and their children, Samuel and April, Doug Petry (Susan) and their daughter, Elizabeth; daughter, Cheryl Norris (Todd) and their children, Jessica (Tracy), Kristen, Cody, Zie, Caleb, Jonah, Casey (Tyler) and great grandchildren, Kayson, Emmaus, Ember Ann. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and a sister, Nancy Petry Francis.

There will be a private family graveside service.
