George Patterson

George Wilson Patterson, 68, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at his home after several months of failing health.  He was born in Richmond, VA on August 6, 1953 to the late Dr. George Graham Patterson and Nina Elane Wilson Patterson and was the husband of 45 years to Joan McDonald Patterson of the home.

George was a UNCG graduate and retired from Ball Corp. in Reidsville after 38 years of service.

He loved anything outdoors and was meticulous when caring for his lawn.  He enjoyed family trips on the RV to places like Disney World and Myrtle Beach, playing golf with his sons and frequent road trips to Atlantic City and Cherokee.

He is survived by his wife, Joan; sons, Will Patterson (Allie), Bobby Patterson (Kim); daughter, Lori Gilliam (Matthew); grandchildren, Kinsley and Elizabeth Gilliam; brothers, Dr. David Patterson (Ruth), Frank Patterson (Becky); sisters, Jane Eddy (Ralph), Susan Cameron (Jim) and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; uncle, John Patterson and a cousin, Ronnie Patterson.

A service to celebrate George’s life will be held 11:00AM on Friday, December 10, 2021 at Friendship United Methodist Church.  The family will receive friends following the service.
